Architect Day in the University District

Consult an architect, FREE!

For homeowners in the University District neighborhoods:

Marcy-Holmes, Prospect Park East River Road, South East Como, and West Bank Cedar Riverside

Appointment is required.

Homeowners are invited to consult with an architect, landscape designer, or contractor about remodeling and landscaping ideas for their homesteaded properties.

Appointments available hourly beginning at 10:30 (last appointment at 1:30).

Have you thought about a small or large remodeling project on your home?  Maybe an addition or landscape redesign?  Planning to add accessible features?  Do you need some good advice before moving forward?  This is a great opportunity to bounce your ideas off the experts.  In addition to architects, contractors will be available to advise on cost and timing issues.

BRING TO YOUR APPOINTMENT: scale drawings (1/4" to 1' preferred) and any relevant photos or other information about your home.  Begin gathering your materials now.

Parking information and maps are at

http://www1.umn.edu/twincities/maps/BellMus/

There is a fee for parking.

While at the Bell Museum of Natural History . . .

Take advantage of the special exhibit Sustainable Shelter: Dwelling Within the Forces of Nature.  This exhibit reveals innovative new building technologies and strategies that can help restore the health and viability of natural cycles, with an emphasis on building materials, energy, and water.  Visit the exhibit before or after your consultation, and don't miss the ICON Solar House, an award-winning project designed by UMN students.
